The January meeting was called to order by President Donnie Kleven and the 12th meeting held at Johnson Sales and Service. We had 21 in attendance, with guests Steve & Sally Hodge attending the meeting. Welcome Steve & Sally. This meeting was the reading and signing of the Charter for Madison Chapter 166. Deb Olson, John Pahs, Paul Kinas and Sue Kinas helped with the reading of the Charter. The Charter was sign along with the 2010 ride waivers and release forms. Deb Olson gave the treasure report and reported a balance of $ 724.10. Only expense was the $24.00 for troop package postage. Took in $10.00 from Judy from cook book sales and $40.00 for the 50/50 raffle prize, which was won by JR. John Pahs passed a “Thank You” note from our troop contact and said that 26 packages had been sent to troops in 2009. Way to go Chapter 166! There was discussion on whether to continue to collect and send packages to the troops. JR made a motion to continue to have the Chapter pay for two boxes for the troops as needed. This motion was 2nd by Paul. The Madison Chapter will continue to send packages to the troops in 2010. Bonnie spoke on getting events to her and she will get put them on the Chapter event calendar on the web site. She went through the list of upcoming events. Mike & Pat took the month of September and our planning an over night ride to La Crosse on the 11th. Sue spoke on working on things for LOS events and mentioned a Art bike show coming up in August. JR talked next on ride safety and Jim getting his ride captain rocker. Way to go Jim. Safety training will be at the April meeting. Discussed getting information on Accident Scene Management Course and Jr will keep us informed if and when. Pat welcomed our guest members and spoke a briefly about what the Madison Chapter and Star Touring and Riding are about. A ride committee was formed. Members Mike, Paul & Tim volunteered for this committee. 50 / 50 Raffle was done with JR the winner. Bonnie made a motion to adjourn meeting and it was 2nd by Sue Kinas. 12 members attended the bowling party and Mike & Pat have quite a bowler in their family. Way to go Travis!
